About the Role
Tornado Laundromat runs six locations s across Amarillo. We're hiring a Facility Maintenance Technician to own the physical condition of every store. That covers the buildings and grounds, HVAC upkeep, and a scheduled preventative maintenance program on our laundry equipment. This is either a part time or full time role.
You'll have a company van with pressure washing equipment and the tools the job requires. You'll run a rotating schedule across all six stores. We hold our team to a finished-product standard, so every job should be complete, correct, and documented before you leave the site.
Key Responsibilities
Laundry Equipment Preventative Maintenance
- Vacuum and clean dryer fronts, backs, lint compartments, and burner/heating areas on a set rotation
- Clean dryer exhaust ducts and transitions, and check for blockages, damage, and proper airflow
- Clean around washer backs, drains, and floor areas, and check for leaks, loose hoses, and worn door gaskets
- Inspect lint screens, door seals, belts, and visible components, and report anything that needs a repair tech or parts order
- Follow lockout/tagout and gas safety procedures when servicing equipment
- Keep a PM log for each machine and location
HVAC & Building Systems
- Replace HVAC filters on schedule at all six locations
- Do routine HVAC checks such as thermostats, condensate lines, and visible unit condition, and escalate problems to our HVAC vendor
- Maintain water heaters, plumbing fixtures, lighting, and electrical items within your skill level, and escalate licensed work
Property & Exterior Maintenance
- Pressure wash sidewalks, storefronts, entries, dumpster areas, and parking lot trouble spots
- Handle general repairs to doors, locks, fixtures, drywall, paint, signage, furniture, and folding tables
- Maintain restrooms, trash areas, and landscaping as needed
- Perform seasonal work such as freeze prep, storm cleanup, and roof and gutter checks
Van, Tools & Reporting
- Keep the company van clean, stocked, and maintained, and report service needs promptly
- Track tools, supplies, and inventory, and request restocks before you run out
- Submit daily or weekly work logs covering completed tasks, issues found, and parts needed
- Coordinate with store managers so work doesn't disrupt customers
Qualifications
Required:
- Valid Texas driver's license
- Working knowledge of basic HVAC, plumbing, and electrical
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, kneel, and work behind equipment in tight spaces and heat
- Self-directed and dependable, able to work a route without daily supervision
- Must pass a background check and driving record check
